Putting God Back in His Place

Putting God Back in His Place

We treat God as an inconvenience instead of a priority… and then wonder why our lives are so out of order.

Think about it.

If we treated our Bibles the way we treated our phones—checking it first thing in the morning, carrying it everywhere we go, feeling off when we don’t open it—our lives would look a lot different.

What if the first person you talked to every morning wasn’t a friend, a boss, or someone on social media, but God?

What if you were more concerned about dishonoring Him than you are about what people think of you?

We make time for everything that feeds the flesh—sports, entertainment, work—but when it comes to feeding the spirit, we give God what’s left instead of what’s best.

You wouldn’t miss a football game from kickoff to the final whistle, but church? That’s “if I feel like it.”

The truth is, we put God on the back burner and still expect front-row blessings.

Even when we pray, we often do it with selfish motives—asking for more just to serve ourselves, not to serve others.

But God blesses us to be a blessing. And when we finally put Him first, everything else finds its proper place.

Jesus said it best in Matthew 6:33 — “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

When He’s truly first—above distractions, desires, and deadlines—everything else falls into order.

So maybe it’s time to reorder some things.

Maybe it’s time to treat God like the priority He already is.
